Meet Riley

Riley Shaia was born and raised right here in Virginia. As a mother and fitness professional, she understands the value of community, family, and hard work.

After graduating high school, Riley attended the University of Virginia where she worked her way through school and received a B.S. in Education with a concentration in Sports Medicine. Riley continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University where she obtained her Masters in Physical Therapy. Through hard work and perseverance, Riley achieved her American Dream and is a certified group exercise instructor with the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and has worked as a group fitness professional since 1992. She is also a Program Specialist for Tabata Bootcamp, Barre Above, One Day to Wellness, Fluid Strength, Balletone, and Extreme Chaos. Riley currently teaches group fitness at the Tuckahoe YMCA.

In addition to her family and small business, Riley has been a leader in Henrico. Riley is a dedicated public servant who has spent her life building a healthier and more vibrant community by building positive relationships.

Riley is running for the House of Delegates because she loves this community and its people, and knows we deserve a representative in the House of Delegates who will be a strong and independent voice for what we believe in. Riley will empower parents when it comes to their child’s education, cut costs for families living on a budget, and keep our neighborhoods safe from crime and fentanyl.

Riley Shaia currently lives in Henrico with her husband, Dr. Wayne Shaia, and their three children Allison, Adam, and Nicholas.
